2026 DFW Law Student Bar Scholarship

SPONSORED BY J.L. TURNER LEGAL ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION
THIS BAR PREP SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE OFFERED TO SIX DFW METROPLEX LAW STUDENTS SITTING FOR THE TEXAS BAR EXAM IN JULY 2026. EACH WINNER WILL BE AWARDED $2,000.00.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
- Applications open: May 7, 2026
- Application deadline: 5:00 p.m., May 27, 2026
- Winners announced: June 1, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS/ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
- Third year law student (3L), attending law school in the DFW Metroplex, at either SMU Dedman School of Law, Texas A&M University School of Law, or UNT Dallas College of Law.
- Sitting for Texas Bar Exam in July 2026.
- Financial Need.
- Record of Community Involvement & Service
- Selection of winners for this financial-need based scholarship, will be based primarily on applicant's need, disadvantaged circumstances, community involvement, and other factors, in addition to merely academic standing.
APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING
- Copy of law school transcript with grades confirming enrollment.
- Current resume that includes honors, activities, and publications.
- Texas Board of Law Examiners documentation of registration for the Texas State Bar Exam in July 2026.
