  • THURBER FARMS DOG BOARDING

    LIABILITY WAIVER & AGREEMENT

    1. Acknowledgment of Risk

Owner acknowledges that dogs, regardless of training and temperament, may act unpredictably. While Thurber Farm exercises reasonable care, Owner understands that boarding dogs in a farm setting with other animals and dogs involves inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, escape, illness, or death.

    2. Owner Responsibilities

    Owner affirms that their dog(s):

    • Are up-to-date on vaccinations (Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo).

    • Are not aggressive toward humans or other animals (unless disclosed in writing).

    • Are free of contagious illnesses and parasites.

    • Have not exhibited behavior that would make them unsuitable for a boarding environment.

    3. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

In the event of injury or illness, Thurber Farm will make every reasonable effort to contact the Owner. If the Owner is unreachable, they authorize Thurber Farm to seek veterinary care at their discretion. The Owner agrees to be responsible for all associated veterinary costs.

    4. Liability Release

Owner agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Thurber Farm, its owner (Amanda Thurber), employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from:

    • Injury, illness, loss, or death of the Owner’s dog(s) while on the property.

    • Injury or damage caused by the Owner’s dog(s) to another animal, person, or property.

    5. Abandonment

If the Owner fails to retrieve their dog(s) within 72 hours of the scheduled pickup time and cannot be reached, Thurber Farm will make reasonable efforts to contact all provided emergency contacts. After 3 days, the dog(s) may be considered abandoned and may be sent to local shelter at Thurber Farm discretion. The Owner remains liable for all fees incurred during that time.

    6. Payment Policy

All payments are due in full at drop-off.

Thurber Farms accepts Cash, Zelle, Venmo and Apple pay. If payment is not received at the time of drop-off, the dog(s) will not be admitted for boarding. No exceptions. Additional fees may apply for early pickups, late pickups, or added services, and must be paid upon pickup.

  • Please Bring:

    • Bring your dog’s food

Keeping their diet consistent helps avoid stomach upset.

    • Bring a collar/harness and leash

We require all dogs to arrive with a secure collar for safety and identification.

    • Include comfort items

Beds, blankets, or toys from home are welcome to help your dog feel relaxed and at ease in their kennel.

    Please Dont:

    • Don’t skip heartworm/flea prevention

All dogs must be current on heartworm and flea medication to protect themselves and everyone else. If they will be staying with us when they are due bring the preventative along and I'll make sure they get it.

    • Don’t worry!

Your dog is in loving, capable hands. We treat every guest like our own.

What to Expect When You Arrive:

When you arrive for your dog’s stay, you’ll drive to the west pasture. You’ll see our blue kennel building — you can’t miss it!

Please park your car outside the double gate and keep your dog on a leash.

Mandy will meet you at the gate to walk you and your dog in for a proper first-time introduction. She’ll give you a quick tour of their “hotel suite” and answer any last-minute questions to make sure everyone feels comfortable and excited for the stay.

We look forward to meeting you!
