It's that KILTWALK TIME of year again! We have a team of 24 taking on the challenge including some of our amazing young leaders. Please show your support to them with a donation and message below!
Last year we raised an incredible £12,000. This made a huge difference to providing children and young people with support and activities during Spring and Summer. This is a crucial time of year to raise funds. One residential can cost up to £10,000 and we aim to run between 10-14 each year.
Young people in Glasgow face challenges due to poverty, inequality and injustice. 1 in 3 Children in Glasgow live below the poverty line. This severly limits opportunities for them as well as as negatively impacting mental health, physical health, personal and social development.
What does GK do?
We believe all young people are brilliant and all deserve the same opporutnies to succeed. We provide a programme of support focussing on long-term relationship development. We work alongside young people in their local settings and allow outdoor residential and wilderness experiences to help them soar.
We provide an integrated model of support across 4 areas: Residential experiences, local community work, a young leaders programme and tailored individual support. Through these, young people:
Improve physical and mental health
Increase their confidence and skills to take new steps and make positive decisions
Create a strong voice towards decisions that impact them
Build resilience against adverse childhood experiences
Gain leadership skills and increasing prospects
