Reports to: Executive Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Director is responsible for leading a majority of development activities within the Cody Dieruf Foundation (CDF) to raise funding for the organization's operations and programs. The position follows and amends a comprehensive fundraising plan to expand the organization's philanthropic support from a budget of $230,000 per year to $500,000 plus in four years. This includes identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing corporate and individual leads, fostering strong donor and sponsor stewardship, and seeking, applying for, and managing a portion of the grant funding.
Amend and implement a comprehensive Development Funding Plan annually, which maintains future financial resources for growth and expansion. Including donor stewardship, major gifts, the Night of Hope annual fundraising event, grant writing, corporate giving and sponsorships, appeal development and management, and Give Big Gallatin Valley.
Develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive image such that companies, civic organizations, and individuals will make the Cody Dieruf Foundation a local charity of choice for funding.
Act as the primary point of contact for funding, donations, and fundraising events
Inquiries.
Maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and funding received
using our CRM, Bloomerang.
Work with the marketing coordinator to design and produce the annual giving
campaign and auxiliary marketing, promotional, and outreach materials. Oversee
branding, image, and consistency of messaging in all marketing materials. This includes ensuring CDF messaging is updated and accurate in all marketing and outreach materials.
Perform networking at selected community and leadership events.

Location:
The position is Hybrid/Remote in Bozeman, Montana. Must be able to work in the CDF office in Bozeman a few days per week.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Customer service, communication, and recordkeeping experience required.
Able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Good public speaking skills required.
Qualifications:
Related college and fundraising experience, or related sales experience, required. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, required—experience securing major gifts of $5,000 and raising $150,000 annually.
Knowledge about cystic fibrosis is a plus.
Empathy and good listening skills are required.
