• Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program Application

    Thank you for your interest in the Southern University and A&M College Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program. The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program, also known as McNair Scholars Program, is a federally funded TRIO program that seeks to prepare students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. To be eligible for the SUBR McNair Scholars Program, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria (as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations): Be a low-income college student, or First-generation college student, or Be a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education In addition, applicants must also: Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Be enrolled full-time at SUBR Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA Have completed the sophomore year (earned at least 60 credits) prior to the summer semester Have one to two years remaining before graduation from SUBR Demonstrate potential to conduct scholarly research Plan to continue immediately to graduate school and persist to earn a PhD* *Please note that the McNair Scholars Program is not open to students who are only interested in earning a Master's degree or a professional degree, e.g. MD, JD, DVM, PharmD, PsyD, DNP, etc.
