    *** PLEASE NOTE-ALL CLASSES WILL BEGIN DANCING @ 9:30 AM. PLEASE ARRIVE DRESSED IN YOUR HIGHLAND COSTUME TO BEGIN WITH THE FLING. No food or drink with the exception of water in the auditorium. You may bring snacks to eat outside.

  • Competition Rules: Competition is governed by the rules and regulations of the RSOBHD. Spectators of the dance competition must purchase a festival wristband for entry. Participants will receive a free festival wristband with their registration (grants access to the dance competition and festival). ScotDance NW Region will receive $2.00 from each entry. Registration begins in the morning at 9:00 am. Dancing will begin at 9:30 for Primary and Beginner groups. Once all entries have been received, event times for Novice, Intermediate and Premier will be released. Entries MUST be received no later than September 30th. No late entries will be accepted-No exceptions. No refunds of entries will be given-no exceptions. Judge's decision is FINAL. Only competition committee members are authorized to communicate with the judge. Dancers will dance in inverse order of entry. Age groups will be determined according to number of participants at the close of entry. The competition organizer reserves the right to combine, split, or delete classes as needed. With 6 or more entries, an adult premier group for ages 30+ will be created and qualifying dancers in that category will perform cut steps. If not enough entries for this group are received, registered dancers may choose to receive a refund, or may compete with a Premier 12 and over group doing full steps. We reserve the right to cancel any event due to lack of participants. If the event is cancelled, competitors will be notified ASAP prior to the competition date. Venue is indoor with theater seating. Designated areas for costume changes will be available. NO FOOD OR DRINK (with the exception of water) will be allowed in the theater. Participants must present a valid 2025 Dancer Registration Card on the day of competition. Dancers with a valid registration card who forget it on the day of the competition will be allowed to dance but are subject to a $25 fine. Pre-Premier Registration cards will remain with the competition organizers throughout the competition, and will be returned to dancers following awards. Medals will be awarded for each event, and dancers must be in costume to receive awards. If there are three or less dancers in an event, medals/awards will be given at the judge's discretion. An aggregate trophy sword will be awarded to the highest point earner in each age group, with the expecption of the Primary categories. Status changes MUST be received no later than October 13, 2025.   • I, the undersigned, do hereby waive and release all rights, claims, demands and/or causes of action against the Moab Celtic Festival/Scots On The Rocks, Grand County-Star Hall, Moab City Ball fields and all festival sponsors and volunteers for any personal injury which I might sustain during the highland dance competition and participation in the festival, which is immediately known to me or hereafter discovered, and for all other damages or losses which I might incur now or in the future, arising from or out of my participation in this event. I also permit the Moab Celtic Festival/Scots on the Rocks and it’s sponsors to use my name and or photograph of my participation in competition events as well as other festival events for future promotional or publicity purposes without obligation, or liability to me. Protests must be submitted in writing to the competition organizer, properly signed and accompanied by a fee of $30. It must be made immediately following the competition and if sustained, the fee will be returned. Dancers must present a valid 2025 SDUSA Registration card with the sticker on the back on the day of competition. In the event a dancer forgets their registration card, they will be allowed to participate but will be subject to a $25 fine. There will be no refunds of entry fees-no exceptions. I have read fully the entry form and agree to abide with it, and all of ScotDance USA rules for competitions.
