If you’re a First Nations artist keen to be part of a powerful night of Blak storytelling and celebration, we want to hear from you.
Merrigong Theatre Company is calling out to emerging and established First Nations artists from across the Illawarra and beyond to be part of Blak, Bold & Deadly—a vibrant NAIDOC celebration that fuses the timeless glamour of cabaret with the raw power of First Nations storytelling.
We’re seeking expressions of interest from First Nations performers working in music, dance, theatre, comedy, spoken word, or cabaret. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been honing your craft quietly, this is your chance to develop and perform your work in a professional setting alongside seasoned Blak creatives.
Blak, Bold & Deadly is inspired by the 2025 NAIDOC theme The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, and will honour the artists and ancestors who came before while shining a spotlight on the future of Blak excellence.
This is more than just a gig—it’s a space for connection, celebration, and empowerment. Through bold storytelling, and an immersive atmosphere, we’ll amplify First Nations voices and perspectives in a night to remember.
Expression of interest deadline: 11:59pm 28 July 2025
Event Date: 23 August 2025
