    · Free paper : Non-Competitive Category

    Please read the instructions carefully prior to submitting your abstract.

    LANGUAGE: All material has to be submitted in English only (Arial, font 12).

    ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Kindly submit your abstracts online. The presenting author must be a member of KOA.

    Abstracts must be of original material and the work should have been conducted in India.

    WORD LIMIT: The abstract must be written in 300 words including the title. Tables can be included in the abstract.

    ORDER OF ABSTRACT: The submitted abstracts must contain the following :

    TITLE: The title of the abstract must be typed in Title Case with the exception of scientific names, which should be in upper and lower case forms and italicized.

    INTRODUCTION: Brief Background.

    METHODS :Describe the design, conduct and analysis of the study

    RESULTS: Present the main results with supporting metrics

    CONCLUSION: Discuss the conclusions and limitations of study/ applicability.

    Guidelines for Best Paper award for Trainees:

    “Prof. M. Shantharam Shetty Best Paper Award“

    1.      Interested delegates should submit only the Abstract of the free paper. (Only in word format, No PPT/ PDF)

    2.      Submit a structured abstract consisting of NOT more than 300 words

    3.      Trainees are Ortho residents (MS and DNB) Postgraduate trainees should obtain a certificate from their faculty co-author, unit chief, or HOD of their department permitting them to present the scientific material.

    4.       Original scientific work should be selected where in the majority of the work should be done by the      presenting author and with adequate follow-up of at least two years.

    5.       Each presenter will be allotted 6 min as effective presentation time, plus 2 min for a Q/A session. All presenters must adhere to this time limit. Total of 10 papers will be presented in one hour session.

    6.       Case reports should not be included for this category.

    7.      The organizing committee will constitute a scientific committee to screen the suitable papers. The KOA  designated scientific committee member can oversee the selection process.

    8.      The scientific work must be original, not previously published, and should not have been presented at any national or state conferences.

    9.      The judges will be preferably two senior eminent faculty of academic repute to avoid bias.

    10.    The results of the award will be declared immediately after the session so that winners can be present     during the valedictory function.

    11.   Decision of the judges will be binding to all presenters. In case of any disputes, the executive committee  of KOA will decide the final outcome.

    12.   All presenters must be registered for KOACON 2026

    13.   Presentations must be prepared to convey key principles, facts, and results in a clear and concise manner. Avoid lengthy tabulations of numerical data and limit equations to those for which the terms can be properly defined.

    14.   PPT/PPTX formats are recommended. Kindly ensure that all fonts comply with the basic installation of      MS-Windows / The presentation can be on powerpoint using MS Office 2010, windows 7 or flash or as a keynote or powerpoint 2011 on lion 10.7 on mac ( Selected papers are requested to load their presentation at the preview during conference)

  • Guidelines for Best Paper award for Consultants & Faculty
    Guidelines for "Prof. J S Hegde Best Paper Award"

    1.      Interested delegates should submit only the Abstract of the free paper. (Only in word format, No PPT/ PDF)

    2.      Submit a structured abstract consisting of NOT more than 300 words

    3.      Consultants include practicing orthopedic surgeons or faculty (Senior residents /registrars and above) and should be KOA members.

    4.      Original scientific work should be selected where in majority of the work should be done by the presenting author and with adequate follow up of at least two years.

    5.      The paper presentation will be of 6 minutes duration with 2 minutes discussion. 10 papers will be presented in one-hour session.

    6.      Case reports should not be accepted for this category.

    7.      The central committee, in its meeting, shall screen all such papers and select preferably 10 papers for the competition.

    8.      The scientific work must be original, not previously published, and should not have been presented at any national or state conferences.

    9.      The judges will be preferably two senior eminent faculty of academic repute to avoid bias.

    10.   The results of the award will be declared immediately after the session so that winners can be present during the valedictory function.

    11.   Decision of the judges will be binding to all presenters. In case of any disputes, the executive committee of KOA will decide the outcome.

    12.   In consultation with each other, the judges may decide not to award the gold medal if no presentation is found to be of a standard befitting the award.

    13.   All presenters must be registered for KOACON 2026

    14.   The work should be preferably done in India, and a major contribution should be of the presenter. The certificate to this effect should be given by the presenter.

    15.   PPT/PPTX formats are recommended. Kindly ensure that all fonts comply with the basic installation of MS-Windows / The presentation can be on powerpoint using ms office 2010, windows 7 or flash or as a keynote or powerpoint 2011 on lion 10.7 on mac (Selected papers are requested to load their presentation at the preview during conference)

  • Guidelines for Best Case Report Award:

    “Dr. P.K. Usman Best Case Report Award”

    1.      Interested delegates should submit only the Abstract of the case report. (Only in word format, No PPT/ PDF)

    2.      Submit a structured abstract consisting of NOT more than 300 words

    3.      The award is open for trainees, consultants and faculty. Postgraduate trainees who are not members of KOA should obtain a certificate from their faculty co author or HOD of their department.

    4.      No age limit.

    5.      Unique case reports of clinical relevance to Orthopaedics only are to be included for this award.

    6.      The case report should have a minimum of one-year follow up if applicable to be considered for the award.

    7.      The judges will be preferably two senior eminent faculty of academic repute to avoid bias.

    8.      The results of the award will be declared immediately after the session so that winners can be present during the valedictory function.

    9.      Decision of the judges will be binding to all presenters. In case of any disputes, the executive committee of KOA will decide the outcome.

    10.   All presenters must be registered for KOACON 2026

  • Guidelines for Best Poster Award:

    “Dr. Vilas Babu Best Poster Award”

    1.      Interested delegates should submit only the Abstract of the ePoster. (Only in word format, No PPT/ PDF)

    2.      Submit a structured abstract consisting of NOT more than 300 words

    3.      The award is open for both trainees, consultants and faculty. Postgraduate trainees who are not members should obtain a certificate from their faculty co author or HOD of their department.

    4.      No age limit.

    5.      Both full length original scientific work and case reports/ case series can be included.

    6.      The judges will be preferably two senior eminent faculty of academic repute to avoid bias.

    7.      e Poster should be Width 42 X Height 59.5 cms (Conference or Event poster) in size, comprising an introduction, aims and objectives, material and methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions.     10. File format should be single JPEG in High Resolution (below 10 Mb file). Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static JPEG only (Not GIF,PDF etc.)

    11.  The E-poster will be displayed on standard Portrait Format only.

    12.   The poster should be self-explanatory.

    13.   All presenters must be registered for KOACON 2026

    14.   Selected E-Posters will be allowed for display in the conference venue.

     

  • Guidelines for Free paper Non-Competitive Category:



    1.     Interested delegates should submit only the Abstract of the free paper. (Only in word format, No PPT/ PDF)

    2.      Submit a structured abstract consisting of NOT more than 300 words

    3.      Consultants and Trainees may submit their entries under this category.

    4.       Original scientific work should be selected where in the majority of the work should be done by the presenting author .

    5.       Each presenter will be allotted 6 min as effective presentation time, plus 2 min for a Q/A session. All presenters must adhere to this time limit. Total of 10 papers will be presented in one hour session.

    6.       Case reports should not be included for this category.
