By Registering for Detroit Riverwalkers on the riverfront I agree to the following:
LIABILITY RELEASE:
I understand that Detroit Riverwalkers is presented by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and sponsored by Henry Ford Health and AARP in conjunction with the Conservancy’s Programming. I also understand that my participation in this event involves the risk of injury and even death from various causes, including but not limited to risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, accidents, falls, drowning, strenuous physical activity, dehydration, illness or collision with other participants, weather-related injuries, equipment defects, and the negligence of other participants. On behalf of myself and my heirs, I assume these risks.
This release is intended to discharge in advance the Released Parties from liability in connection with any accident, death, injury or damages (collectively, the"Losses") to persons or property which I may suffer arising out of, or connected in any way with my participation in any activity associated with Detroit Riverwalkers, including Losses arising from or related to COVID-19, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk, including, but not limited to, risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, is to be binding on my heirs and assigns. I agree to assume all responsibility for any property damage or injury to any person caused by myself while participating in any activities related to Detroit Riverwalkers.
By participating in this event I and my heirs hereby waive, release and discharge any claims for damages, death or personal injury that I may have or may hereafter accrue as a result in participation in Detroit Riverwalkers. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, a Michigan non-profit corporation, its members, officers, directors, agents, servants, employees, subsidiaries and all Detroit Riverwalkers partners and affiliates as well as Henry Ford Health, AARP, the City of Detroit and all other property owners which have granted rights to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy (“Released Parties”) from liability by reason of any accident, death, injury, or damages, to persons or property, including those Losses arising from or related to COVID-19, which I may suffer while participating in any programs and/or activities related to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.
PHOTO RELEASE:
I understand that during any activities associated with Detroit Riverwalkers presented by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and sponsored by Henry Ford Health and AARP that my photograph may be taken by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy staff, producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or assigns. I agree that my photograph, including video photography, film photography, or other reproduction of my likeness or the likeness of me or my child, may be used without charge by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, their producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or its assigns for such purposed as they deem appropriate.
By completing this form I agree that I have read and fully understand the above terms of the liability agreement and recognize that my registration serves as a complete and unconditional release of liability.
