Bermuda Arts Council Organisation Grant

Supporting the missions of not-for-profit and charitable arts organisations
The Bermuda Arts Council Organisation Grant aims to support and enrich the arts community in Bermuda by providing financial aid to charitable, or not-for-profit arts organisations* dedicated to the arts. The selected organisation will receive $5,000 BMD to fund arts-related events, shows, or initiatives that contribute to Bermuda's cultural and artistic landscape. The funding can be used to support the planning and execution of public art events, performances, exhibitions, or shows that showcase the talents of local artists and engage the community. Organisations looking to expand their knowledge or skill set in the arts can utilise the grant to fund workshops, training sessions, or educational events.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Applicants should demonstrate aptitude and artistic merit in the relevant medium.
- Projects should demonstrate value to the development of the arts in Bermuda.
- Applicants must be Bermuda-based organisations. All charities must provide a registered charity number.
* A not-for-profit group is an organisation that exists to support a specific cause, activity, or community interest without the goal of making a profit for private individuals. Any surplus funds are reinvested into the organisation’s activities rather than distributed to members. A charity is a specific type of not-for-profit that must serve a recognised public benefit.

Charities are required to register with the Bermuda Government, follow strict financial regulations, and submit regular reporting. While all charities are not-for-profits, not all not-for-profits meet the requirements to be considered charities.

CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION:
1. Only official applications submitted with all necessary documentation will be considered.
2. Applicants may only receive one (1) BAC grant per Government financial year. They are welcome to apply as part of a group as long as they are not the central applicant.
3. Applicants must disclose the results of any previous BAC grants/awards.
4. Applications without a detailed budget outline will not be considered for review.
5. All information is held in strict confidence.
CONDITIONS OF AWARD:
1. Awardees must acknowledge any grants in a public format. The BAC logo will be shared with awardees so it can be attached to any relevant marketing. Please share any relevant marketing materials with the council so we can promote them.
2. Recipients of Grants will provide BAC with an update on the project's status (including but not limited to any press received) within one year of receiving funds.
3. Any applicant whose project has not been carried out to fruition must promptly return any funds to BAC with a written explanation of why the project did not proceed.
