  • JCI Michigan Outstanding Young Michiganders Honors Program
    The JCI MI Outstanding Young Michigander program was started in 1955 to recognize outstanding community leaders ages 18 and 40 years old from around the state of Michigan. The program honors up to five (5) Outstanding Young Michiganders (OYM).

    AWARDS
    The Outstanding Young Michigander honors program recognizes young people based on their achievements and contributions to their community. These individuals exemplify the Jaycee philosophies and ideals.

    SUBMISSION PROCESS
    It is not required that the nominee or nominator be a member of the Jaycees. Local Chapters may nominate up to two (2) individuals.
    DEADLINES AND NOTIFICATIONS
    All submissions are due electronically by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2026. Notification of winners will be communicated to both nominees and nominators the week of July 13, 2026.
    OYM AWARDS BANQUET
    The JCI Michigan Outstanding Young Michigander program will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026 in Holland, Michigan. Information on the banquet will be included in the winners’ notification letter. Winners will be announced to the media prior to the Honors program. Each Winner will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the awards banquet. Additional tickets may be purchased. For more information surrounding the event for the weekend, please visit jcimi.org

  • REMINDER - JCI MI OYM RULES GOVERNING NOMINATIONS:
    ● Age limit effective January 2026 is 18-40 years. A person is not eligible if the nominee becomes 41 before January 1 of the following year.
    ● The nominee must be a U.S. citizen.
    ● The nominee must be present at the awards ceremony.
    ● All questions on the nomination form MUST be answered. Incomplete nomination forms are subject to
    disqualification.
    ● The nominee may not be a current member of the JCI Board of Directors at the state, national or international level.
    ● It is not required that the nominee be a member of the Jaycees.
    ● A local chapter may nominate only one person for each category. Each JCI MI chapter is limited to no more than 2 “Outstanding Young Michigander” nominations per year.
    ● A video presentation will be prepared by our communications team.
    ● To assist with this, between 20 and 50 HIGH quality candid photos should be submitted in addition to a headshot. These photos should depict all aspects of the recipient's life (family, career, community, etc.). These photos will be required shortly after notification.
    ● Submissions must be received Electronically no later than 11:59 p.m. June 30, 2026.
    ● Recipients of an O.Y.M. award may be requested to complete a “Ten Outstanding Young Americans” (TOYA) nomination form, for submission to JCI USA.
    ● All entries become property of the JCI Michigan.
    ● Nominees must be willing to promote the ideals of JCI USA for the year after winning the award.
    ● Nominees must be willing to allow JCI USA to use their name, image, and submission information in current and/or future communication and promotion of the OYM program.
    ● All rules must strictly be abided by, or entry will be disqualified.
