General Info
Are you aware that an adoption fee is collected for all adoptions to defer costs for the care and medical treatment of adoptable dogs? Fee’s are subject to change and it’s best to refer to the individual dog's profiles, but a general guideline is: Small breed puppies up to 6 years old - $600, Small breed 7 yrs up - $550, Medium/Large breed puppies to 3 yrs - $550, Medium/Large breed 3+ yrs - $500, Senior and disabled $400-$500 depending on the dog. Dogs taken in locally in BC $500-$700 depending on vet costs
Please indicate that you are aware that the adoption fee covers spay/neuter, health exam, rabies vaccine, distemper complex vaccine and boosters up to date of adoption (some may be required after this date at the adopter's expense, deworming, testing and treatment for parasites, microchip etc).
Please indicate that you understand that Mexpup will not adopt dogs under the age of 3 years old to people over 75. While we understand that everyone physical abilities will be very different, this is to attempt to avoid too many changes in a dogs life if physical or other needs change for the adopter.
Please indicate that you understand that by adopting a dog from Mexpup you are expected to be able to pick the dog up from YVR (Vancouver). Depending on the time of year, we will always try to find flight offers closer to peoples home cities if available, however if we can not we expect people to make the trip to pick their dog up. Please note that specifically between mid May to early November, YVR is the only option for flight pick up as most airlines go into an embargo during this time. Some flight may be early or late arrivals that could require an overnight stay if you are not in the Vancouver area. This is at the adopters own expense. Please ensure you are aware of this and understand by answering in the box below
Please indicate you are aware that majority of our dogs are fostered or in shelters in PV, Mexico. This means that meeting dogs prior to adoption is not possible unless the dog is specifically specified as in BC in a foster. We rarely send dogs into foster as we try to minimize the amount of transitions they will face. We thoroughly vet applicants to ensure they sound like the right fit for the dog they are adopting and vise versa. We do consider the first two weeks of adoption as foster to adopt but families are required to pay the adoption fee and sign the contract prior to this and make a genuine effort to help their dog adjust. In rare circumstances where an adopter or dog are not the right fit for each other this two week period allows a buffer for sight unseen adoptions.
Please indicate your understanding that required annual veterinary check-ups and vaccinations may cost up to $300, and that you are willing and able to provide this to your pet.
We strongly urge new families to purchase pet insurance for min one year as we cannot foresee future medical issues. Please check yes or no if you will be purchasing pet insurance.

Please indicate that you understand that Mexpup Animal Rescue does not provide a dog license, and that you are required to contact the municipal and/or provincial governing body for your residence to register and/or license any adopted dog.
Do you agree that any dog you adopt through Mexpup Canada Animal Rescue, will be a family pet that will sleep inside the home, and enjoy extensive house privileges
