New Call for Projects:

UK Catalysis Hub Phase III Application Deadline - September 26, 2025 17:00BST
The Catalysis Hub supports internationally leading multi-disciplinary multi-institution collaborative research projects where scientific excellence is the first criteria. The Hub encourages applicants to seek out industrial support and leverage if it is relevant to the science proposed prior to the application.

All proposals submitted to the Hub should follow the Hub Ethos and should not be relevant to other research council pathways or calls. The UK Catalysis Hub themes are i) Net Zero Transition; ii) Sustainability; iii) Computational and Digital; iv) Advanced Characterization. Read more about our new research programme.

3. Approach*

Why, what and how you plan to achieve the project. How will the collaboration work and who will participate. A maximum duration of 12 months of Hub funding can be requested. It is expected the project team will seek out opportunities for leverage (question 6) and alternative funding where appropriate. Applicants should indicate how it will make use of the Hub and the Harwell Campus if relevant to the science proposed.0/500
4. Fit to the Hub*

It is essential to specify why funding from the Hub is required and appropriate as opposed to other UKRI funding mechanisms. You should also demonstrate how the project fits the Hub Ethos 0/150
5. Future Vision *

You should consider how the project will be taken forward in the light of success including potential funding mechanisms and future collaborations and the potential for future development and how it may continue to interact with the Hub network. We are looking to seed and support proof of concept applications as a basis for developing future applications outside the Hub0/200
