We’re always looking for volunteers to assist with our summer camps!
CFBG Camps -
Cape Fear Botanical Garden offers summer camps for children ages 4-14 with different week long and day camp themes. All our camps focus on fostering a love for nature with hands-on activities and outdoor explorations. We serve over 300 children in camp over the course of the whole summer and we could never do it without the help of volunteers!
Volunteering -
Volunteers can sign up for one or more camps. Summer Camp volunteers are role models to younger children, help with crafts and activities, clean up and setup from camp, pass out supplies, and support children with special needs. It's a great way to give back to your community, build your experience working with children, meet other volunteers, and enjoy a summer at the Garden.
Requirements -
Summer Camp volunteers must attend a camp volunteer training. The training will include a tour of the garden, safety guidance, and camp routines.
You must volunteer for the entire camp session that you select and be able to arrive 30 mins prior to camp start and stay 30 mins after the camp conclusion. There is a background check for volunteers over 18 years old. We would like volunteers to be at least 16 years old unless the volunteer is a returning camper. Volunteers must be at least 2 years older than the campers in the session they select.
Camp Schedule -
You can see the camp schedule at this link. There will also be a few additional camps offered for specific organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and Salvation Army. Volunteers will have the opportunity to sign up for camp sessions at the training or by email after the training. We would like 2 camp volunteers per camp.
T-Shirts -
Volunteers who commit to at least a full week of camp and register before May 12th will get a camp T-shirt of their choice.
Please register below for the camp volunteer training.
Thank you!
