• Capitol District School Group Visit Overview 

    Guided visits of the State House are available for grades 3-12 only. If you are bringing a group with Pre-K through 2nd graders, you are permitted to visit the State House for a self-guided tour only. 

    The Supreme Court Mock Trial program is appropriate for grades 4+.

    Per building and staff capacities, groups larger than 90 (students + adults) may need to be scheduled over multiple dates.

    Appointments are required for all groups who would like to tour the State House, Supreme Court, or Vermont History Museum.

    Reservations for guided visits must be requested at least two weeks weeks in advance. Your visit is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email from a State House or Museum staff member.

  • *The Supreme Court Mock Trial is available for grades 4 and above. We regret that we are unable to offer this activity to younger groups.

  • We reserve the right to limit the number of adult chaperones participating in school group guided visits.

  • *The Supreme Court Mock Trial activity requires a minumum of 7 participants (students + adults). We regret that we are unable to offer this activity to groups smaller than 7.

  • *A Hands on History program requires a minumum of 10 participants. We regret that we are unable to offer this activity to groups smaller than 10.
