    • Fundraising

      Among other responsibilities, board members play a key role in raising funds for our organization. It is an expectation of board service that you will introduce people in your sphere of influence to our work and invite them to know and do more - examples include prospective: volunteers, members, board members, staff, and donors. 

      Our organization commits to providing you with the information and tools necessary for you to stand as a vocal and visible ambassador for our work. 

      Furthermore, we expect every board member to make an annual financial commitment for each year of board service that represents a level you are comfortable with.

      Each Board Member will:

      • Be dedicated to creating a more equitable, diverse, and welcoming Association. 
      • Be committed to advancing opportunities for economically disadvantaged children through the camp experience. 
      • Volunteer an average of 6-15 hours monthly, year-round. 
      • Attend more than 90% of the scheduled meetings.
      • Provide a financial contribution to the general operating fund on an annual basis.
      • Actively participate in fundraising efforts.
      • Be a current member of ACA Illinois.
      • Not be employed or subcontracted by ACA Illinois.
      • Participate on 1-2 committees of ACA Illinois (Serving in leadership roles within 1 of those committees.) - Committee involvement will be discussed with the Board Member, CEO, and Chair to ensure your skillsets are best used in relation to the needs of the organization. 
      • Be a current and active onsite Accreditation Visitor, Instructor, or Serve on one of the Accreditation Committees. (Can be trained during the first year of their first term.)
