There are two categories: Grange Mentors and Distinguished Patrons of Husbandry.
The "Grange Mentors" category is for Patrons of Husbandry, deceased or living, who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the Grange at the national level. These individuals would have likely served as officers and staff. They may include members at the outset who assisted with the founding of the Order or leaders who contributed to the establishment of new programs and initiatives throughout the Grange’s history. Additionally, they may have had an impact in other ways, such as founding Grange-based companies, like the insurance companies that started in the early 1900s. There indeed may be other instances of high impact; the committee will have an open mind to such nominations. As a caution, we are looking for individuals with a national impact; some candidates may be best suited to be inducted into state or local Grange Halls of Fame.
Examples: Oliver Hudson Kelly, Caroline Hall
The "Distinguished Patrons of Husbandry: Community & Society Influencers" category is for Patrons of Husbandry, deceased or living, who have made a significant and sustained contribution to American culture and/or society. These individuals may be politicians, founders of organizations or movements, celebrities, businessmen and businesswomen, or perhaps those with a significant social media impact. The impact of these influencers should be national in scope and be consistent with and supportive of the Grange’s values and culture.
Examples: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Norman Rockwell.
Applications will be accepted through September 1 for the current year’s induction.
