Story Structure
Tell us about a time when your faith became real, personal, or tested. This could be the story of how you came to Christ, how God showed up in a struggle, or how your faith shaped a moment in your everyday life.
Use this 4-part storytelling guide to help shape your thoughts:
1. “There was a time…”
Describe what was happening in your life—emotionally, spiritually, or situationally.
What were you going through? What were you unsure about?
2. “But God met me…”
Explain how God showed up in that moment. Was it through a verse, a person, a prayer, a change in perspective?
What shifted in your faith or heart?
3. “Here’s what I’ve learned…”
What truth or insight stayed with you from that experience?
What do you now understand about God, yourself, or life?
4. “And if you’re listening…”
Encourage someone who may be facing something similar.
What’s one thing you’d want them to know or hold onto?
Short Example (Based on: “A Time God Helped Me”)
There was a time I was overwhelmed and grieving the loss of a loved one. I didn’t feel like praying. I didn’t feel like being around anyone.
But God met me through a friend who dropped off food and sat with me in silence. I also started hearing worship music in a new way—it felt like God was speaking through the lyrics.
Here’s what I’ve learned: God doesn’t rush our healing, but He never leaves us alone in it.
And if you’re listening, I want you to know that you don’t have to feel strong for God to be near. He meets us in our weakness.
