Eligibility: The following eligibility criteria applies for each Major Award category.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year - applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and have completed their course with Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2025.
Apprentice of the Year - applicants must be a registered Apprentice, having completed their off-the-job training at Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Cultural Diversity Training Award - applicants must have migrated to Australia (from overseas) after 1 January 2019, reside in Western Australia and must have successfully completed their course with Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
International Student of the Year - applicants must be recognised as an international student with a 500/572 visa and must have successfully completed their course with Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
James Dawson Award (Wheatbelt Only) - applicants with a disability and/or medical condition and must have successfully completed their course with Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Trainee of the Year - applicants must be a registered Trainee with Central Regional TAFE and completed their training in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Vocational Student of the Year - applicants must have successfully completed their course with Central Regional TAFE in the period 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Applicants may apply for more than one category; however, Trainees and Apprentices are not eligible to apply for the Vocational Student of the Year category. Each application will be treated separate.

Assessment: Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel upon closing date. Eligible applicants may be contacted for an interview by the Awards selection panel should they meet the selection criteria. As part of the interview process, a photo may be requested for future promotional purposes and some content of the application may be used in promotional publications.
Notification: The winners of the Major Awards will be announced at the 2025 Student Graduation and Awards Ceremony (April 2026) for each campus. Winners may be required to do a further presentation if requested by the Sponsor.
