Student Pre-Program Survey
  • Student Pre-Program Survey

The Union County Human Relations Commission (UCHRC) is partnering with Union College of Union, New Jersey (UCNJ) on the POPCORN AND SODA PROJECT.  The UCHRC will screen a movie that addresses the issues of bias, stereotyping, prejudice, hate, cultural diversity, equity, and/or inclusion with accompanying discussions.  We are looking for your input as we create this important program.
  • The survey is ANONYMOUS. We only ask that you be as truthful and forthright as possible.

  • In the past five years, have you ever been in a situation where you feel you were a victim of bias, prejudice, or hate?*
  • If so, have you shared information about this incident and/or your feelings with anyone or kept them to yourself?*
  • If you shared the incident with someone, who did you share it with?*
  • How important is having a conversation about bias, prejudice, and hate to you?*
  • Do you believe members of the community should come together publicly to have these conversations?*
  • The UCHRC would like to open up a conversation about bias, hate, diversity, equity, and inclusion with UCNJ/Cranford students.  These conversations will be moderated and monitored to ensure a safe space to encourage a respectful exchange of ideas, experiences, and opinions.

The initial conversation will be centered around a movie that in some way addresses the topics of bias, stereotyping, prejudice, hate, cultural diversity, equity, and/or inclusion that would be both interesting to watch and helpful for this open conversation.

  • Please let us know which of the following movies you would be interested in watching and discussing.*
  • The Union County Human Relations Commission (UCHRC)
consists of a dedicated group of diverse volunteers whose goal is
to actively encourage, develop, promote, and strengthen respect
for human rights and cultural diversity among the people of Union County.

Our mission is to provide support to bias crime victims who are targets of a crime
because of their race, creed, color, religion, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identify, socio-economic status, or physical or mental challenges,
and to intervene to eradicate the conditions that ultimately cause bias.

The UCHRC addresses the issues of bias, prejudice, and racism,
and their impact on our local schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Our focus is to promote and encourage a more inclusive and respectful society in Union County,
