This position is classified as a 1099 independent contractor role.

Empowering Young People’s 2025 Summer Camp will operate from June 1 to July 17, 2025.

Chief Camp Counselors will work Monday through Friday, scheduled for 6-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Summer Scholar Tutors will work Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and must hold a valid Florida teaching certification to be eligible for this role.
Camp Director will work Monday through Friday, schedule will be 10am to 6pm

Compensation is distributed biweekly via direct deposit.
Please note that the camp will be closed during the week of June 29th - July 3rd in observance of the holiday (July 4th).

Chief Camp Counselor

The Chief Camp Counselor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for campers, and leading a team of camp staff. This individual will play a key role in program development, staff supervision, and overall camp management while fostering a positive and enriching experience for all participants.

Camp Director

The EYP Summer Camp Director is responsible for overseeing daily camp operations and ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging experience for all campers. This role supports and supervises camp counselors, monitors staff performance, and ensures all activities run on schedule. The Camp Director serves as the primary point of communication for parents, addresses concerns promptly, and completes incident reports when necessary. Additionally, the Director ensures that all campers and staff follow camp policies, safety procedures, and behavioral expectations while maintaining a positive and structured camp environment aligned with Empowering Young People’s mission.

Summer Scholar Tutor

Empowering Young People is seeking certified teachers in Lake County to serve as Summer Scholar Tutors for our 2025 EYP Summer Camp program. Tutors will facilitate small group sessions focused on reading, writing, and math using a provided curriculum. This role is not for new instruction; instead, tutors will help scholars retain and reinforce knowledge gained during the previous school year.

Note:

You may select the Camp Director position; however, please note that we will only be selecting up to two individuals for this role. Applicants who are not chosen for Camp Director may be offered the position of Chief Camp Counselor based on qualifications and program needs.
