  • General Parade Guidelines

    ALL UNITS

    • To be considered for placement in the parade, every unit must submit a completed and signed Parade Application and Hold Harmless Agreement.
    • Every parade unit is subject to approval by the Clam Festival Committee.
    • All accepted units will receive lineup instructions, arrival times, and staging area maps in early July.
    • Entries that are political, religious, or controversial will not be accepted.
    • The parade will proceed rain or shine, unless weather conditions pose a safety risk. Cancellations will be communicated by email and phone.
    • All motorized vehicles must be in working order, legally registered, and driven by a licensed and insured driver. Proof of insurance may be requested.
    • Animal entries must be pre-approved and include a cleanup plan. Animals must be under control at all times and may be removed if they pose a safety risk.

  • Hold Harmless and Parade Participation Agreement

    By executing this agreement, the undersigned participant agrees, on behalf of themselves and any successors, heirs, or assigns, that participation in the Yarmouth Clam Festival Parade is at their own risk.

    The undersigned hereby releases, discharges, indemnifies, and holds harmless the following parties:

    • The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce
    • The Yarmouth Clam Festival
    • The Town of Yarmouth
    • The Yarmouth School Department
    • Their officers, directors, employees, agents, and members
    • Any successors and assigns of the above entities

    This release includes any and all claims, causes of action, liabilities, obligations, or damages of any kind—including but not limited to claims for contribution, exoneration, indemnity, personal injury, or property damage—that may arise from participation in the parade.

    Parade Unit Acknowledgements

    By signing this agreement, I certify that my parade unit understands and agrees to the following:

    • I understand and agree to comply with the following:

    • My parade unit will follow all public safety laws.

    • My parade unit will follow all Clam Festival Parade rules (Attached).

    • My parade unit will follow Clam Festival Parade safety policy and will not throw, toss or hand anything to spectators. This includes promotional or informational materials, food or candy, water or water balloons, silly sting etc. This is to prevent injury to spectators or children who may run into parade traffic.

    • My parade unit will not solicit donations or raise funds.

    • My parade unit design will not be political, religious or controversial in nature. In the event of uncertainty concerning the character of my parade entry, I agree to abide by the Parade Director’s decision. I and/or my organization will assume liability for any damages or injury caused by my parade unit.
