  • Community Asset Map

You are invited to participate in identifying the assets and strengths of the local community in Klickitat and Skamania Counties. The information you share is anonymous and will be used to create an interactive map of assets that the community can use to discover and uncover spaces and places in the local area. Read on for more information about the community asset mapping process, goal of asset mapping, and SWACH’s role.
  • Community Asset Mapping is a process for identifying and mapping the assets and strengths of a community. Assets are things that are important to members of the community: people, things, services, resources, and connections. By gathering the collective knowledge, skills, and resources of the community into one shared document, asset maps are designed to build connections and spark collaboration between individuals, organizations, and local government. SWACH is collecting information on these assets: physical places and spaces, people and social networks, events and traditions, public services, and economic and employment. Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) is committed to improving health equity and expanding access to health care for individuals across Southwest Washington. The Community Health Improvement department at SWACH is facilitating the asset mapping process with the goal of growing resident power and supporting future relationship building. The information collected from community members and stakeholders will be used to create an interactive map of assets (e.g., https://neareastplan.org/resources/map/) that people can use to identify assets in their community and surrounding communities. Community Asset Maps help: Strengthen and build relationships, Promote community pride and engagement, Provide a positive starting point for change, Show people what assets can be useful to them, Create a strong foundation from which to build ideas and address challenges when they arise
