To support this commitment, the YMCA has established abuse prevention procedures, including unscheduled supervisory visits, an open-door policy for parents, and a clearly defined staff Code of Conduct. We minimize opportunities for abuse, educate children on personal safety and boundaries, and provide staff with comprehensive child abuse prevention training. We also screen applicants thoroughly to prevent the hiring of individuals with abusive backgrounds.
