We invite all teens in Grades 8-12 to come together as a community to honour the memory of the six million lives lost in the Holocaust at A Conversation with Holocaust Survivor Rita Starkman on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre, 9600 Bathurst Street, Vaughan, with free shuttle buses from Beth Sholom Synagogue and Prosserman JCC.
This is a free event hosted by BBYO, open to teens and their families. Please register separately for each family member who will attend.
This meaningful evening during Holocaust Education Week will feature a first-hand testimony from Holocaust survivor Rita Starkman (née Rosenberg). Rita’s story is one of courage, survival, and the enduring power of identity and memory. Her experiences remind us of the importance of remembering the past and carrying forward the lessons of resilience, hope, and humanity.
This program is a unique opportunity for BBYO members to engage with history in a personal and impactful way, reflect on the strength of the Jewish people, and connect with our shared heritage.
Let’s gather to remember, reflect, and ensure that “Never Again” truly means never again.
We ask that all participants wear white as a symbol of remembrance and unity. White represents the light we carry forward in memory of those we’ve lost.
