  • The following are requirements for being a Peace Keeper -- Please check off each requirement, affirming that you are able and willing to comply with these guidelines.

  • Background 

  • Have you done community safety or similar work before?
  • Do you have any experience with activism or organizing?

  • Safety Awareness and Concerns

  • Being involved in movements that challenge systems of power often comes with risk—from state surveillance to threats by far-right groups. Are you aware of these risks and the ways they show up in our region?
  • Do you use encrypted communication tools like Signal or Session?
  • Are you aware that police often film events and use facial recognition?
  • Have you attended any events where counter-protesters were present?
  • Are you currently involved in any work, activism, or situations that could put you or others at risk if you are publicly seen at protests (e.g. immigration status, employment concerns)?
  • Do you have any concerns about safety, state surveillance or participation with the Jacksonville Peacekeepers?
  • How would you describe your ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations?
  • Do you have any physical limitations we should be aware of when assigning roles?

    In the state of Florida, referring to yourself as “security” without a state-issued license can be considered illegal. Please do not use that term when describing your role or our team.

    Our role is to support community safety through de-escalation, communication, and presence—not through physical intervention. If you're selected to join the Peacekeeper team, you'll receive training on how to operate within these guidelines.
