    Kids will develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at our one-day marketplace at the Crosby American Legion. Your booth must be approved to sell at the event. You'll get a confirmation once your application is accepted. We are taking applications from young entrepreneurs age 4 to 17! Please read our FAQ page before submitting an application as it contains important rules and information about the event.

    10x10 space Outdoors only. If you want them indoors they will pay the full fee of $120.

    No electricity available 

    3 kids maximum per business 

    Attendance is required for the duration of the event, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Early departure could be perceived as a premature closure, potentially impacting vendor business operations and causing undue disadvantage.

     

    You must take a trash bag to dispose of your trash and at the end of the day take it to the trash container at the right hand back side of the Fairgrounds.

  • Parents make sure you ask your children these questions as to prepare them for event day.

    What price will you charge for each item?

    How much will each item cost to make?

    How will you plan to advertise your business prior to the fair? (This is required to bring customers in)

    How do you plan to pay for your start up costs? (If your parents or adult sponsor are assisting with your supply costs, how do you plan to pay them back?)

    At the end of the event, how will you determine if your business has been a success?

    What is the Kid’s Business Fair?

    The Kid’s Business Fair inspires children age 4 to 17 to discover their inner entrepreneur. This one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses. 

     

    What type of businesses will you accept?

    Children must create their own products (or significantly modify products to make them their own) or services. Please feel free to email us (crosbyvendormarket@yahoo.com) to inquire if your product will be eligible prior to submitting an application. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate businesses requiring electricity.

     

    Can I apply as part of a group? 

    Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.

     

    When will I find out if my business is accepted?

     You will find no later than 2 weeks of submission.

     

    What if someone else has the same business idea?  

     Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do.

    If my business is accepted, how much is the booth fee?

    $25 per business

     

    How will the fair be set up?

     The fair will be an outdoor event at the Crosby American Legion. Each business will be given a 10x10 ft  outdoor space  to set up as they wish and must bring a 5-8 ft folding table. Bring all necessary items you'll need to display your product.  Tent if needed, tables, chairs and anything else ypu may need.

     

    What are the rules? 

    This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves. On the day of the fair, the children should be responsible for set up (little help from adults. Like tents and table. Everything else is on the child) customer interaction, and sales.

     

    What if there's inclement weather the day of?

    The Kid’s Fair will be held, rain or shine. However, in the case of inclement weather occurring, appropriate decisions will be made by the host as to canceling, delaying, re-scheduling, closing the fair early, etc. 

     

    No Refunds for no-shows or cancellations. If we have to reschedule your payment will Rollover to the rescheduled date. 

     

     

     

     

  • Parents must supervise all children under 13 years old at all times.  At no time must you leave your child/children unsupervised.  This is for their safety. 

     

    Crosby American Legion or Crosby Vendor Market will not be held responsible for any incidents or injuries that occur on the property. 

     

    You must clean up after yourselves and throw all trash in the trash bins on site. We will host Kid’s Business Fair once a quarter. In order to be invited back you must follow the rules.
