Explorers' Play Workshop

Overview

Ages: 18 months – 5 years (with caregiver)

Schedule: Wednesdays, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

BEACONS’ Explorers Play Workshop offers young children and their caregivers a welcoming space for shared play, exploration, and connection.

Sessions are set up for toddler connections, and focus on sensory experiences, social interaction and child-led discovery using open-ended materials. Caregivers participate alongside their children in a relaxed environment designed to support curiosity, social connection, and early development.

There are no formal lessons or academic expectations. Learning emerges naturally through play, interaction, and exploration.

This is a caregiver-attended playgroup, not a drop-off program and not childcare.

Program Conditions

To ensure a welcoming and well-prepared experience, Explorers’ PlayGroup sessions run only when the minimum number of participating families is met.

Each registered child must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver throughout the session.

If minimum enrolment is not reached:

1. Families will be notified as soon as possible
2. Any payments made will be refunded or credited to future sessions, based on family preference

Health and Safety

BEACONS Early Learning Collective follows all applicable municipal, provincial, and facility health and safety guidelines.

Children must be well enough to participate in group play.

Caregivers are responsible for supervising their child at all times and responding to their child’s needs during the session.

Caregiver Responsibilities

BEL-C’s Toddler Connections offers a warm, shared space for children and caregivers to play, explore, and connect together. 

During snack or mealtime, caregivers:

• Set up and supervise their child’s eating area
• Dispose of all waste after mealtime

Comfortable seating is available, including for breastfeeding mothers.

Caregivers are asked to stay with and supervise their child throughout the session and to help care for the shared space and materials.

To ensure children have enough space to move and explore, only one caregiver per child can remain during the session.
