Supporting Student Learning in the Classroom and Fieldwork
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will gain an understanding and identify means to support the learning needs of Occupation Therapy (OT) students in both classroom and fieldwork settings.
- The session will focus on strategies to enhance student engagement and learning, best practices for supporting fieldwork students, and ways to foster collaboration between faculty, fieldwork educators, and students
About the Speaker:
Katherine Schofield, DHS, OTR/L, CHT, is the assistant program director and associate professor in the occupational therapy program at Midwestern University—Glendale. She has published articles on anatomy in OT education programs, orthotic design and fabrication in OT education, and the relevance of 3D printing in upper limb rehabilitation.
Dr. Tamara Turner, EdD, OTR/L is an Associate Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the Occupational Therapy Program at Midwestern University - Glendale. She is passionate about experiential learning and has published several research articles on collaborative fieldwork supervision.
Erika Moy is a practicing occupational therapist with over 12 years of experience working in public schools, and 3 years in acute and subacute rehabilitation settings.
Alison Liechty, a second-year OT student at NAU, has expanded her knowledge and professional network through meaningful experiences and collaboration while interning with ArizOTA.
