These guidelines are to ensure that all prospective users are aware of their responsibilities and the operational procedures in place for a safe and efficient travel lift service.
1) All boat owners and contractors must complete an induction prior to boats being lifted.
2) Hi-vis vests/tops and closed footwear must be worn in the yard at all times. No thongs/ croc’s or similar open-toed footwear allowed.
3) All boat owners or owner’s agents must be present for the entire lift and will also need to direct or confirm slings and stand placement.
4) The marina staff will take all measures possible to ensure a safe lift, however all responsibility will be on the owner or owner’s agent.
5) It is the owner or owner’s agent that is responsible for the delivery of the vessel to the travel lift bay at the allotted time. If the boat is disabled Marina staff will assist in moving the boat to the travel lift area. This service will incur a nominal fee.
6) Owners are to inform marina staff of any known previous repairs and or obstructions (propeller shafts, anodes, senders, unusual keel shapes etc) that may be relative to their boat.
7) The Owner/Agent is responsible for the removal and safe stowage of any apparatus that may inhibit the Lift. E.g. forestays, backstays, fenders, aerials etc.
8) It is the travel lift operator’s decision as to how and where the boat is lifted. If there are any doubts concerning lifting the boat the operator’s decision is final.
9) Marina staff are in no way responsible or permitted to remove or replace rigging from boats.
10) The boat must be fully cradled to the satisfaction of the marina staff before access to the boat is granted to the owner/agent.
11) People working on boats in the hard stand area are not permitted to alter or remove the cradles or props which support the boat.
12) The hard stand yard is strictly a working area and only registered contractors and boat owners/representatives in hard stand are to access this area.
13) All contractors and boat owners/representatives are to provide their own tools and equipment. The marina workshop and lunchroom is off limits except for marina staff.
14) Vehicles are to be limited to one per boat. If more vehicles are necessary, please off-load equipment and move vehicles to the carpark. Walking pace speed limit to be adhered to in the yard.
15) Sand blasting is not permitted, and tarpaulins must be erected under and around vessels if work involves any likely impact on other vessels regarding overspray &/or sanding of any surface/material. Any damage caused to other property will be at the offending boat owners’ expense, even if caused by your contractor.
16) Water blasting is only to be carried out by marina staff.
17) All work areas must be kept clean daily and free of hazards and risks that may cause injury, illness or property damage. Charges apply if marina staff are required to carry out this task.
18) Before vessels are lifted to the water all rubbish must be cleaned up from the vicinity and payments to be brought up to date.
19) All lifts and lift services must be prepaid at the office before a lift can proceed.
20) Berthing in the hardstand area is charged out at the standard wet berthing rate with an additional weekly fee applicable. Refer to price list.
21) Travel lift charges are based on a standard lift. Any excessive time will be charged accordingly.
22) The main yard gate opens at 8am and closes at 4.30pm sharp. There is a 24-hour walk-through gate located near the members toilets.
23) All yachts being lifted to the hardstand must remove their head sails off their furlers before being lifted.
