James Terry Collective is seeking a team of passionate theatre creatives to bring to life the premiere of Tarzan - The Stage Musical, based on the Disney film with music and lyrics by Phil Collins.

ABOUT JAMES TERRY COLLECTIVE

James Terry Collective is a leading Melbourne independent production company, following their critically acclaimed production of Kinky Boots which received the Green Room Award for ‘Independent Production of the Year’ (2023), including Best Direction (Martin Croft), and Best Ensemble.

Dedicated to producing commercial-level theatre, James Terry Collective supports the growth of emerging artists, and building a community of professionals to foster to a more connected and vibrant arts community in Melbourne.

Previous productions include Next To Normal (2022) with Green Room Awards for Best Leading Actor (Queenie van de Zandt) and Best Original Choreography’ (Freya List), following Legally Blonde the Musical (2019), and RENT (2018).

JTC just concluded a new production of the Tony-Award winning revival of The Boys in the Band written by Mart Crowley, marking 50 years since its original staging in Australia.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

Being a brand-new Australian production, we need bold and brave creatives who have a great sense of adventure, and generous of spirit. To support the show's message of celebrating our differences and shared humanity, we encourage creatives of all identities to apply.

The production team will work closely and collaboratively with producer James Terry, including Director Alister Smith, Choreographer Michael Ralph, and Musical Director Claire Healy.

Due to strict licensing restrictions and the limited opportunity to recoup production costs, agreements are not aligned with union or equity awards. Paid, volunteer, and work experience positions are available.

I permit James Terry Collective PTY LTD to use my name and image in any aspect in relation and relevant to Tarzan The Stage Musical, and the company James Terry Collective PTY LTD. I understand that any process of this production may be filmed and photographed, and I give permission to use these recordings in all media including print, broadcast, radio, and social media, at any stage during and after the production has concluded. 

CONFIDENTIALITY:

I understand and agree to maintain this confidentiality agreement for anything in relation to the production of Tarzan The Stage Musical, and James Terry Collective PTY LTD. I agree to keep all aspects of the production confidential, not limited to conversations in person or online, contracts or documents, audition information, show materials, or intellectual property. 

EMBARGO:

I understand and agree to the terms of this production under Embargo. In this instance means no statements relating to the production shall be made available to the public or media (including social media) without written authority from the Producers. Agents are free to discuss with clients, and performers are permitted to discuss with their networks and professional contacts as required. 

INSURANCE:

James Terry Collective PTY LTD offers public liability insurance, and Workcover, for activities that take place within the rehearsal space and theatre. I agree that any ilness or injury outside of these parameters is at my own risk and therefore take full responsibility for any illnesses, accidents, and injuries that may occur, and that James Terry Collective PTY LTD will not be held liable.
