Safety Around Horses
At The Shetland Pony Club, safety is our top priority. Please take a moment to read and agree to the following safety guidelines:
Supervision: If your child needs a one-to-one, a parent/carer will be required to stay.
Appropriate Clothing: Children should wear long trousers and closed-toe shoes or boots. No sandals or flip-flops are permitted.
Behaviour: We ask that all children behave calmly and respectfully around our animals. Running, shouting, or sudden movements can scare ponies.
Helmets: Riding helmets must be worn during any ridden activities. These are provided, or you may bring your own BSI-standard helmet.
Allergies & Medical Needs: Please inform us of any allergies, medical conditions, or additional needs on the booking form.
No Feeding Ponies: Please do not feed the ponies unless directed by a staff member – some have special diets.
Terms of Booking Notice
To help us plan and ensure the best experience for everyone:
Cancellations: Booking is for the half term, if you miss a session, no refund will be issued. We kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations of the full half term, less than 48 hours’ will not be refunded.
Weather: Sessions run in most weather conditions. In the event of extreme weather (e.g. thunderstorms, high winds), we may need to rearrange your session.
Late Arrivals: Please aim to arrive 10 minutes early. Sessions may be shortened for late arrivals to avoid overlapping with other bookings.
Photography: We occasionally take photos during sessions for promotional use. Please let us know if you do not consent to your child being photographed.
