Self-Serve Cart Policies – The Culinary Canvas
Bookings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, please review the following policies:
1. Cart Use & Responsibility
- The client is responsible for operating the cart during the rental period. Client will be responsible for any intentional or negligent damage to the cart, umbrella, or service equipment.
- A refundable damage deposit of $250 is required for all self-serve rentals. This amount is due along with the final balance one day (1) day before the event. This will be returned within 5 business days after the cart and equipment are returned in clean, undamaged condition.
- The cart must be handled with care. Any damage or excessive mess will result in forfeiture of the deposit and may incur additional charges.
- Umbrella damage fee: $100 if returned broken or unusable.
2. Setup & Pickup
- The Culinary Canvas will handle delivery, setup, and breakdown of the cart.
- Delivery includes travel up to 30km from our location.
- For locations beyond 30km, an additional fee of $1.75 per extra km will apply.
- The final delivery fee will be confirmed during booking based on your event location.
- Events over 100 km are subject to a $75 long-distance service fee, in addition to mileage costs. For locations over 130 km, overnight accommodations may be required.
- Client must ensure the event space is accessible and safe for setup.
- Clients will receive instructions for proper handling and storage of ice cream.
- Cart pickup will occur at the end of the agreed rental time. If additional time is needed, this must be arranged in advance and results in extra charges.
3. Storage & Safety
- Ice cream will be delivered pre-scooped at in an insulated setup.
- Cart must be kept indoors or in a shaded, cool area to maintain safe conditions.
- Do not leave the cart unattended in public spaces. The client is fully responsible for the equipment during the rental period.
4. Customization & Toppings
- Each package includes standard signage and menu. Any custom signage, flavours, labels or styling must be discussed in advance and may include additional charges.
- Toppings will be delivered in sealed containers. Clients must handle toppings in a clean and safe manner.
5. Food Allergens Disclaimer
All products are made in a kitchen that handles dairy, nuts, soy, eggs, and gluten. While we take great care to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee our products are allergen-free.
6. Liability
The Culinary Canvas is not responsible for any allergic reactions, illnesses, or injuries resulting from the consumption of its products. Ingredients may contain common allergens such as dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten.
7. Cancellation Policy
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking within 24hrs via e-transfer.
- The balance is due one day (1) before the event via e-transfer.
- Cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance are eligible for a 25% refund of any amount paid beyond the deposit.
- If only the deposit has been paid, no refund will be issued as the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the event are non-refundable.
