    Life-Time Members

  • To maintain your BCS-SCF status (formerly BRS-FD) as a Lifetime Member, the following is required to complete your three-year renewal process:

    1. Annual Fee of $55.00 (made payable to "ABSCF") or Pay Online.
    2. Documentation of 3 CEUs, a minimum of 2 CEUs must be ASHA approved CEU's and a maximum of 1 CEUs may be non-ASHA approved.

    Non-ASHA CEU's that the Board approves include: 

    • Mentoring an active candidate for specialty certification. 
    • International Workshops (e.g. World Congress of Stuttering and Cluttering, Oxford Stuttering and Cluttering Research Conference, etc.). 
    • ABSCF Roundtables with a Clinical Focus.
    • For non-ASHA continuing education experiences not listed here, please contact the Board at least 45 days in advance of the continuing education experience for consideration. 

  • Documentation of CE Activities: 3 CEUs

    NOTE: The CEUs must have been accumulated during the three-year period from when your BCS-SCF (previously BRS-FD) was last renewed. At least 2 of the 3 CEUs must be in activities that explicitly address stuttering, cluttering, or fluency disorders. Up to 1.0 of the 3 CEUs may be in other areas of practice that support stuttering, cluttering, or fluency evaluation and treatment (e.g. counseling, course development, electronic devices of therapy, outcome measurement development, health care administration/reform issues, topics related to evaluation and treatment of co-occurring speech/language and/or other related disorders, etc.).
