    A. NOMINATION STEPS: 

    1. Carefully review this nomination package. 

    2. Complete the “Candidate Application” below. 

    3. Submit your completed application by 5 PM on May 6, 2025

    4. Attend the online AGM on May 29, 2025

     

    B. ELECTION PROCESS 

    1. Call for nominations are from April 21 to May 6, 2025.

    2. The candidate list is confirmed and profiles are issued to members on May 8, 2025.

    3. Election is conducted at the AGM on May 29, 2025. The results will be announced immediately. All successful Directors will be required to attend a Directors' meeting in the following month where orientation will be given to new Directors.

    4. In keeping with non-profit governance best practices and Whistler Farmers' Market Bylaws, please note that nominations from the floor at the AGM will not be accepted. 

     

    C. INTRODUCTION 

    The Board of the Whistler Farmers' Market (WFM) comprises of eleven Directors. Directors serve as volunteers with no remuneration for expenses related to travel for required meetings and events. Applications are being accepted from interested members of the community to fill vacancies as they arise. A strong desire to see the Whistler Farmers' Market grow strong within the community as a not-for-profit organization, and board experience are candidate attributes.

    The Board values potential Directors with the following skills:

    • Accounting experience
    • Administration and secretarial experience 
    • Fundraising and financial development
    • Board governance experience 
    • Strategic thinking and/or policy
    • Community development
    • Social media and marketing

     

    D. TERM OF OFFICE 

    A Whistler Farmers' Market Director is elected for a term of two years from the date of appointment.

     

    E. PARTICIPATION IN MEETINGS

    Meetings of the Board are currently held on the second Thursday of the month with a minimum commitment of 50% attendance required.

     

    F. CANDIDATE APPLICATION GUIDELINES

    Please complete the below application. The Board will only consider information on the application form. Please do not attach a separate resume or submit any other supporting material including reference letters.

    Eligibility: any interested community member may submit a nomination.
