Passage 3: How to Cook Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti Bolognese is a popular Italian dish that is simple to make and delicious to eat. Follow these steps to prepare a tasty meal for your family or friends.
Step 1. First, gather all your ingredients. You will need spaghetti, minced beef, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, tomatoes, tomato paste, olive oil, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs like oregano and basil.
Step 2. Begin by preparing the vegetables. Chop the onions, garlic, carrots, and celery into small pieces. These will add flavor and texture to your sauce.
Step 3. Heat some olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic and cook until they become soft and golden. This will take about 5 minutes.
Step 4. Next, add the minced beef to the pan. Cook the beef until it is browned all over. Use a wooden spoon to break up the meat as it cooks.
Step 5. Once the meat is browned, add the chopped carrots and celery. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6. Add the tomatoes and tomato paste to the pan. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a little water.
Step 7. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to blend together.
Step 8. While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package. Make sure to use plenty of water and a bit of salt.
Step 9. When the spaghetti is cooked, drain it well and add it to the pan with the sauce. Toss everything together so that the spaghetti is well coated with the sauce.
Step 10. Serve the Spaghetti Bolognese hot, with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top if you like.
