  • Narrative Threads is a national juried book arts opportunity.

    The exhibition will be on view from February 9 – April 6, 2026 at Moody Memorial Library, on the Baylor University campus in Waco, Texas. Note that the exhibition may be extended through May 6.

  • Artists wishing to submit should review the online entry form in advance so that submission details, images and a video link are prepared prior to getting started on the submission.

      A maximum of two submissions per artist will be accepted.
     
    It is recommended that each submission include a minimum of 3 images + a video uploaded and viewable online (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo) of no more than 90 seconds.

      Each work needs to be submitted individually.

      Entries do not need to be submitted all at the same time.

      Please note that you will not be able to change the information, including the price, after the submission process.

  • A minimum of two and maximum of six images per artwork is allowed.

    Please, no composite images or images with embedded text.

    Please name your images using the following convention:
    First Initial-Last Name-First word of title-Second word of title-number.jpg
    Please use hyphens between words as indicatede.g.. J-Doe-My-Book-1.jpg, J-Doe-My-Book-2.jpg
     
    Image formatting:
    Save as jpgs, 300 ppi, 2100 pixels on the longest dimension, as print quality RGB files. Files thus sized will range from 1.5 - 4mb each.

    Please also:
    Use studio lighting on a gray or off white background.
    Adjust color balance before submission.
    Use a digital camera with a minimum resolution of 8 megapixels, not a cell phone.

  • To assist the juror in evaluating the magnificent moves of your submission, we're suggesting you include a video of no more than 90 seconds be uploaded to either YouTube or Vimeo prior to submission.
     
    The emphasis here is on showing the juror's a view of your work that isn't possible with still images. Please note that a polished, professonal video presentation isn't required. Minimizing distracting visual and audio elements is appreciated.
     
    You will need to set up a YouTube or Vimeo account prior to upload. Both services offer free accounts; both services require you to set up an account prior to uploading.

  • Payment ($18 per entry, $12 discounted fee)

    Due to recent changes in how JotForm (the platform used to build this form) handles payments, you will no longer be able to pay for submissions as part of the submission process. Instead, I will send you a Paypal link which you will use to pay the submission fee. I apologize for the necessity of this additional step - it's quite a lot of extra work on this end too :)
