  • The Goodman School

The vision of the Goodman School is to provide teachers with a supportive learning environment outside of the conventional classroom setting. By facilitating programming using an inquiry-based learning model at the Assiniboine Park, the Goodman School's goal is to provide transformational environmental learning that positively impacts student’s lifelong pro-sustainability behaviours and leadership. Assiniboine Park can support the vision of the Goodman School by providing students with opportunities to connect with nature. On the grounds where bison once roamed freely, Assiniboine Park is home to 200 acres of greenspace, views of the Assiniboine River, and numerous gardens and forested areas. The Assiniboine Park Zoo has over 100 species of animals and is home to the award-winning Journey to Churchill exhibit. The Leaf is a spectacular horticultural attraction with four unique biomes and was recognized as "Garden of the Year" at the Canadian Garden Tourism Awards in 2023.
