  • Lively Up Kombucha - Muskegon, MI

  • Our passion for brewing kombucha began in 2014. As aspiring homesteaders we wanted to craft a kombucha that could be as medicinal as possible, yet also had a delicious flavor profile. As our passion for brewing was beginning to unfold we decided to pack our bags and move out to the "Big Island" of Hawaii. While we were exploring the Hawaiian Islands we became fascinated with the culture that seemed to surround the beloved fizzy beverage- dedicated kombucha bars, kombucha on tap, unique and exciting flavors... and don't forget the drum circles! What was not to love?!

As our trip was coming to an end we felt inspired- we wanted to bring the aloha spirit back to our home town of Muskegon Michigan.

Inspired to manifest our dream, we began to brew kombucha once again, only this time the whole family was involved! We would come together and spend Sunday afternoons crafting kombucha -creating a laboratory of our kitchen to concoct delicious flavors and perfect the fermentation process.  Soon our hobby transformed into a passion. We were brewing weekly and giving it to our friends who loved the mysterious concoctions we were coming up with. Thats when it hit us! Lets bring health, vitality, and happiness to our hometown. Lets pay it forward and become active members of our community! Lets Lively Up ourselves!

And since then we have worked endlessly to make a kombucha that tastes good, and feels good when you drink it. We have located the highest quality tea sources, sugar sources, and of course always 100% organic ingredients. Our process is simple: long age fermentation + high quality ingredients = a delicious & genuine dry kombucha that can be admired by the first time kombucha drinker & the kombucha connoisseur. Low in sugar, high in probiotics. Just how it should be!

  • Prospectors Cold Brew - Grand Rapids, MI

  • The Prospectors story begins with the health-conscious, entrepreneurial vision of two childhood friends from Grand Rapids, Mich.

As a Type-1 diabetic, David Wentworth always struggled to find refreshing, caffeinated beverages without high amounts of sugar or other sweeteners. After reading about an emerging method of making iced coffee during one hot summer in 2014, he started experimenting with making cold brew coffee at home.

This newfound passion for homebrewing and the growing cold brew trend didn’t go unnoticed by his longtime friend Eric Pearson. While on a business trip in California, Eric encountered numerous cold brews available on the West Coast. He quickly gathered a box of samples and shipped them overnight to David.

Realizing the untapped potential of cold-brew coffee in the Midwest, the two friends formed Prospectors and got right to work crafting a recipe for cold-brew coffee with A Swift Kick.

Today, Prospectors’ cold brew coffees are available at retailers across the Great Lakes and Midwest regions. Rooted in friendship and driven by hard work and innovation, Prospectors offers a unique cold coffee experience that is all-natural, locally sourced, and passionately hand-crafted in Michigan.

  • St Steve's Farm Crafted Beverages - Hudsonville, MI

  • We'd like to explain why we do the things we do at Mud Lake Farm and with St. Steve’s Farm-Crafted Beverages. Let’s be honest, we’re weird or at least a bit odd and that accounts for some of it. There are a lot easier ways to make things that are more profitable than the way we do them.
Just the fact that we grow and make our products from whole ingredients is pretty unique. Most, if not all commercial sodas are made from flavors. Pour a little of this and a little of that and woh-la! A soda. So why take the time, energy and money to juice and slice real carrots, beets and ginger when we could just pour a bottle of something already to go? Why grow our own elderflowers when we could use a pre-made concentrate and nobody would know the difference?
At the core of this whole thing; the farm, the sodas, everything is the concept of Creation Stewardship. To some this may sound like religious or mystical mumbo-jumbo but it is really pretty simple. Our land has been in my family for 116 years. It was here long before us and will be here long after we’re gone from this earth. But we were placed here and now as caretakers and our job is to care for creation to the best of our abilities. Caring not just this farm, but to care for this country and our world as well. This job is not just caring about the environment although that is important but caring for people as well because they too are part of creation.
To love our neighbor as ourselves, is not just a verse in the bible, but one of the great commands. It is a primary lens through which we are to view the rest of the bible and all of life. We take this command seriously and we try to live out this command in every aspect of our company from how we grow to how and what we sell.

  • A destination in Southeast Michigan, Browndog started as a micro-creamery specializing in small batch artisan ice cream. Opened in 2015, Browndog is the brainchild of Brian Scherle and Paul Gabriel. Long-time food lovers and entrepreneurs, Brian and Paul sought to bring a new restaurant to Downtown Northville. While scouting for space, they discovered a place perfectly suited for an ice cream shop. A normal everyday ice cream shop wouldn't do and with that in mind, Browndog Creamery was born.

Fast forward a year later... People love Browndog so much that Brian and Paul needed to find a place to make more ice cream. They searched many places and finally settled into a building in Downtown Farmington. The building was supposed to be a place to make ice cream, store it, and provide a small scoop store in front. Continuing in the typical Browndog style, they acquired a liquor license and the creamery grew into a Barlor and restaurant.

  •     Michael Murray, CEC  Founder, Pasta Maker
Michael is the chef behind the pasta production. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has worked for over 15 years in the industry, and is recognized by the American Culinary Federation as a Certified Executive Chef.

        Extruding Method
Small batch production is essential for monitoring quality and providing custom-crafted possibilities. We use brass die extrusions and traditional Italian equipment to produce the desirable shapes, texture, and bite.

        Air-Dried Pasta
Fresh pasta is air-dried (slower + cooler) for flavor over a few days like old world pastas instead of completed within hours. Our Chef handles every batch and inspects the final product.

In 2009, Mike found a certified kitchen that operated as a business incubator. He sampled it out and received a great response. Eventually, it began selling in grocery stores across lower Michigan.

  • Free and Simple Foods™ is an 100% woman-owned business that creates snacks for families with food allergies. I founded my company after spending three years learning about my autoimmune issues. I was always frustrated with the limited amount of snacks I could purchase in a store.

Eventually, I realized I was not alone and that it was hard for kids with food allergies to find snacks they enjoyed too. So, I created my granola and crackers, free from all nine main food allergens including; egg, dairy, peanut, sesame, tree nut, wheat, soy, fish and shellfish. I create my granola using Tigernuts, an allergy-safe tuber vegetable.

My goal is to reach as many families with food allergies as I can to help provide them with healthy snacks they enjoy.   -Renee Sorgi Founder

  • At 5 Lakes Flavor, our passion is simple: to bring vibrant flavors to your table using only the finest natural and wholesome ingredients. Founded by friends Alisha and Elizabeth, our journey began with a shared love of food. While visiting family in Australia, Alisha encountered chili crisps – and brought back a jar for Elizabeth. We both fell in love with the taste and texture of chili crisps and quickly learned how versatile the condiment could be for us and our families.

While searching for replacements, it was tough to find a chili crisp that sourced high quality ingredients and healthy oils – and still had delicious flavor and a satisfying crunch. So we formed 5 Lakes Flavor and created a lighter, brighter, and cleaner chili crisp – Ruby Crunch!
