The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is an independent association of national badminton associations which represents their interests and the interests of badminton internationally. The purpose of the BWF equipment approval scheme is to maintain a satisfactory standard for equipment used in international badminton events.
The results of all tests are examined by the BWF and, if approval is granted, the manufacturer will be entitled to include the approval statement:
"Approved by the BWF for international play" All certified companies, their logos and their approved products are listed on the BWF website. Approval/certification of an item of equipment is subject to the absolute discretion of the BWF. Certificates provided by the BWF through this programme may not be modified in
equipment. The BWF shall not, as a consequence of granting this approval/certification, be responsible for any claim arising out of any actual or alleged defect in or damage caused by the approved equipment and you undertake to indemnify the BWF fully in respect of any such claim and to ensure that appropriate product liability insurance is maintained by you at all
Further this approval/certification only applies to the brand and grade provided that no changes are made to the components, method of construction, nature or quality of the equipment tested. If any changes to the components, method of construction, nature or quality of the equipment are made without our prior written consent it will result in approval/certification being automatically withdrawn. In such circumstances it will be necessary for you to submit the equipment afresh for approval/certification. The BWF does not involve itself in commercial disputes relating to the manufacture and distribution of equipment. Such disputes should be resolved between the parties or by reference to the relevant courts.
The BWF reserves the right to take action a appropriate against any individual or company it finds to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions. Such action may include revocation of approval, suspension from the Approval Scheme, and/or inclusion in a blacklist of providers for the badminton community.
