Prayer must be at the heart of this project. Prayer Volunteers serve by praying for our Guests, our volunteers, and for the success of the project in general.
Praying for our Guests: We need a large pool of Prayer Volunteers, because we want someone to pray (first name only) for each of the Guests who attend The Rescue Project which will be held on Saturdays from February 14th through April 18th, excepting March 7th and April 4th. As a Prayer Volunteer you will be assigned one (or more) Guests for whom to pray daily for the duration of the Sessions (now through April 18th). It would be wonderful to have enough Prayer Volunteers that we can assign to each of them a single Guest for whom to pray.
Praying for our Volunteers: As a Prayer Volunteer you may also be assigned a volunteer (also first name only) for whom to pray. This is an especially important assignment. In particular we would ask Prayer Volunteers to pray that those who volunteer for this project will listen attentively to Our Lord’s leading, and follow with all humility.
One characteristic of the responsibilities of a Prayer Volunteer is that anyone can fulfill them, even those who cannot or do not attend the Sessions at all, and even those who do not even live in our area and are not members of St. Francis of Assisi parish. Of course, as a Prayer Volunteer you can also to attend the Sessions – and perhaps even meet the person you are praying for. And since in this case you would also be a Guest, you could also meet the person who is praying for you!
