April 25, 2025 will mark two years since the passing of one of Harlem’s most extraordinary voices: Harry Belafonte—a global icon, fearless activist, and lifelong champion of justice and the arts.

In tribute to his legacy, the Harlem Arts Alliance supports Manhattan Community Board 10’s efforts in honoring Harry Belafonte’s memory on the anniversary of his passing on April 25, 2023.

HAA collaborates with community partners to support the efforts of his family and the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce to co-name 135th Street (between Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevards) in his honor.
