From Nobel Prize winning author in Literature, Maurice Maeterlinck, this youth play has been entertaining audiences for over 100 years. In a fairy-tale-like setting, Tyltyl and Mytyl, the son and daughter of a poor woodcutter, are sent out by the Fairy Bérylune to search the world for the Blue Bird of Happiness. After many challenges and adventures, they find it in their own backyard.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion-conscious casting are the lifeblood of theatre. As such, we encourage, enable, and celebrate all people auditioning to consider the character that speaks to them, regardless of race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation or attractionality, national origin, age, disability, and/or genetic information.
