STRENGTHENING RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE TO BOOST AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY
This discussion will explore the need for investment in rural infrastructure, including roads, water systems, and reliable energy sources, which are essential for commercial farms to operate efficiently and remain competitive. In South Africa, the citizenry has taken it upon themselves to address these challenges to remain competitive. This especially includes the agricultural sector where organised agriculture, individual producers and agricultural companies, at their own expense, address infrastructurerelated issues. The de facto privatisation will not be stopped, however better alignment and policy adjustments need to be implemented in order to scale these projects.
