5.1 Anyone entering the workplace must receive a Site Specific or Visitor Orientation prior to engaging in work activities
5.2 Compliance with all Provincial Safety Regulations and the Marcon Health, Safety and Environmental Program is mandatory
5.3 CSA approved hardhats, high-visibility vests, 6” safety boots must be worn at all times. Safety glasses/face shields, task specific gloves and hearing protection must be worn when there is risk of injury or when enforced by Marcon.
5.4 Incidents, injuries, unsafe conditions and “near misses”, regardless of their nature, must be reported immediately to Marcon Supervisors or Site Safety Coordinators
5.5 Conduct including, but not limited to, bullying, harassment, horseplay, fighting, theft, vandalism, or any other criminal activity will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
5.6 If your ability to work or perform tasks safely is affected by ill health, medications or disabling personal factors, your supervisor must be notified prior to any work activities on site.
5.7 Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping) on site is only allowed only in designated areas at designated times.
5.8 Possession and/or use of alcohol, marijuana, illegal and/or recreational drugs, firearms, or any other illegal weapons is prohibited and will result in disciplinary action and removal from site.
5.9 The use of unauthorized imagery, video, or written documentation from company property or project for use on any form of social media is prohibited.
5.10 All workers must always maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas. Workers are to ‘clean as you go’ keeping work areas free and clear of garbage, tools, electrical cords, or other potentially hazardous items especially in high traffic areas.
5.11 The use of radios, cellular phones, headphones, or earbuds to listen to music is not permitted on site. Cellular phones can be used if it is work related and you are in a safe location.
5.12 No employee shall work or act in a manner that could cause an incident or a health or safety injury to themselves or another employee.

·Wearing all basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the Marcon HSE Program and wear any specialized PPE required for specific tasks.

·Ensuring to never place yourself or others at unnecessary risk by taking shortcuts and/or failing to follow safe work practices and procedures that could prevent injury, damage, environmental harm, or personal illness.

·Taking responsibility to advise co-workers if they are doing (or failing to do) something that compromises their health and safety or that of others.

·Exercising your right to refuse any unsafe work.

·Performing only those tasks which you are competent to perform and seeking clarification of work requirements and safe work procedures when necessary.

·Completing a Field Level Hazard Assessment before starting work each day and updating the assessment as situation or task requirements change throughout the day.

·Immediately reporting all injuries, incidents, and near misses.

·In the event that the Worker’s Photograph has been taken by Marcon’s photographer during their time at a Marcon Site, the Worker agrees to authorize Marcon Group of Companies (“the Company”) to use his or her photograph, likeness or other picture, in whatever format, including electronically or in hard paper copy (the “image”) in any and all promotional and other materials in connection with the business of the Company, and further releases and assigns to the Company all rights, economic or otherwise, that the worker may have with respect to the image.
