Welcome Pilgrims of the Camino de California!

Santiago Retreat Center is pleased to welcome the pilgrims making the Camino de California as part of the National Eucharistic Procession.

Nestled in the scenic foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains, our campground-style retreat center was named by the Franciscan Friars who accompanied the Portolá Expedition of 1769—the proto evangelization of Alta California.

We are located just 17 miles from Christ Cathedral, in a peaceful wilderness setting, and we share a property line with St. Michael’s Abbey, home of the Norbertine Fathers.

Accommodations available for your pilgrimage include:

Albergue-style dormitories with open bunk bed arrangements

RV hookups for those traveling by RV, trailer, camper van, or car camping

Tent sites with tents provided by the retreat center

For all accommodation types, please bring your own sleeping bag, linens, and pillows.

During your stay, you’ll have access to our chapel, where the Blessed Sacrament is present, offering a sacred space for prayer and reflection.
A light continental breakfast will be available on the morning of your departure.

There is no charge for your stay. However, donations are gratefully accepted and support our scholarship fund—helping make retreats and summer camps accessible to all, regardless of financial means.
