This initiative is intended to support local-level programming and training for BIPOC acrobats in their communities. Applications must be for programming in the US or Canada, but applicants and programming may be for any level (new or experienced) or of any age. Funds are targeted for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) beneficiaries; white applicants may still use this form for programming that specifically benefits BIPOC participants in partner acrobatics and adjacent disciplines. Funds are not to be used for festival attendance or festival-adjacent trainings (e.g., 1-day intensives added on to a festival). For festival-related support, please see our separate partner festival ticket application.
We are currently accepting applications for programming occurring May 2026–May 2027. The deadline for this round is April 15, 2026.
Selection is not based on merit or financial need. A committee will conduct an initial review of applications for eligibility and alignment with BACCES' goals of fostering BIPOC participation and inclusive spaces in partner acrobatics. Submissions that pass this initial review will be selected for funding by random lottery. Awards are limited to 1 per application cycle per applicant. Please also note that these awards are taxable, and that awards are for a maximum of $500 USD total.
Awards will be determined approximately 2 weeks after application submission. Awardees must submit a post-project review form within 2 weeks after their programming concludes or at the latest by June 1, 2027. Awardees who fail to submit this form in the specified timeline will not be eligible for future awards.
