Personal Interview to immediately follow registration

Registration fees: $15 payable to Pridefest through payment link or cash/digital payable at the time of registration

 

Doors open at 6pm, pageant begins at 7pm

 

Pageant theme: Journey to Oz

*Theme does not dictate any category for contestants so no need to prepare themed look. Opening production for Formers only

 

Contestant categories: Personal Interview, Eveningwear, Onstage Question, Talent (in that order)

The Mid Missouri Pride Pageant is open to all eligible residents of Missouri, subject to contractual apperances through Pridfest

Ticket Price: $12 general admission

** The newly Crowned of each division will perform a victory number at the conclusion of the pageant

 

Categories and Score System

 

Personal Interview

General Appearance- 0 to 25 points

Personality- 0 to 25 points

Ability to Communicate- 0 to 50 points

Answer Content- 0 to 50 points

Total possible 150 points per judge

The purpose of interview is to place the contestant in a situation answering different types of questions and judging how they will react to their diversity. The context of the answer is important but more important is how they convey that answer. Eye contact with all judges is very important, not just the judge who asked the question. The contesant should answer the judges questions and do not get involved in getting the opinion of the judge. The contestant is judged on the presentation of thoughts. The contestant should look comfortable in properly fitted attire, but not to the point of sloppiness. The interview category should last no longer than 7 minutes

 

Eveningwear

Fit of the gown/suit- 0 to 50 points

Looks (makeup, hair, jewelry, etc)- 0 to 25 points

Modeling- 0 to 25 points

Total possible 100 points per judge

Eveningwear should be the most elegant look of the night. The gown/suit should fit you correctly. Those that choose a suit, that suit can be stoned but not required. The modeling will be 90 seconds freestyle onstage

 

Onstage Question

Ability to communicate- 0 to 25 points

Answer Content- 0 to 25 points

Total possible 50 points per judge

Emcee will ask a question and will give you time to respond to the judges and deliver an appropriate response

 

Talent

Showmanship and set design- 0 to 25 points

Choreography (physical coordination and stage presence- including dancers)- 0 to 50 points

Quality (lip sync, live vocals, and/or other entertainment)- 0 to 50 points

Entertainment Value- 0 to 50 points

Originality and Creativity- 0 to 25 points

Show us what you would bring to the Pridfest stage. We want to make sure our community will be entertained! Please note we would like the winner to perform their talent at pride so please make sure your talent is PG-13. Talent should be no longer than 6 minutes. No liquids or fire or any dangerous items onstage

 

**Email talent and crowning song files to Veronika at s.james1995@yahoo.com as well as bring backup files on a flashdrive incase

 

** Talent time is limited to SIX (6) minutes maximum with FIVE (5) minutes of setup and teardown

 

**Talent for Pridefest MUST be family friendly as this is an all ages event

Terms and Conditions

Contestant Representations:

1. Eligibility and Age:

• Contestant hereby applies for acceptance as an entrant in the Mid-Missouri Pridefest Pageant, hosted and sponsored by Mid-Missouri Pridefest
• Contestant attests that they are 21+ years of age by the date of the pageant. If a contestant is 20 and turns 21 during the calendar year by Pridefest they may be permitted to compete in the adult division. 

2. Character and Conduct

• Contestant represents that they are of good moral character and agrees to represent Mid-Missouri Pridefest to the best of their ability
• Contestant will uphold and fulfill their duties as royalty

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participation and Representation

• Contestant will participate in and represent Mid-Missouri Pridefest at various Pride related functions throughout their reign. These may include but are not limited to:
  • Pridefest
  • Pride Parade
  • Youth Pageant
  • Fundraising Events leading up to Mid-Missouri Pridefest
  • Pridefest Revue
  • MU Homecoming parade
  • Other possible pride festivals throughout Mid-Missouri

2. Behavior

• Contestant will not engage in the use of illicit and/or illegal drugs
• Contestant will not participate in activities that violate the law during their one year reign

Financial obligations

• Contestant has not and will not incur any bill, obligation, or liability on behalf of the Pageant

Liability Waiver

• Contestant waives any claim which they might have against the Pageant or its agents, servants, and representatives by reason of any personal injury suffered during the Pageant rehearsals, or on Pageant night, or while representing Mid-Missouri Pridefest

Acknowledgement of Responsibility

• Contestant acknowledges that they are the responsibility of Mid-Missouri Pridefest at these events
• Mid-Missouri Pridefest is proud to have been entrusted with this responsibility and looks forward to a great year
