    Job Summary:
    Persist Education Services provides transportation through Safe Route Transportation Services (SRTS). SRTS is seeking reliable and professional drivers to provide safe transportation for before and after school services.


    Job Requirements

     

    • Be at least 21 years of age.
    • Pass a comprehensive background check (Including: driving history, State/Federal criminal history, sex offender registry, Child Protection Index)
    • Show proof of a valid driver's license. Commercial driver’s license a plus.
    • Must consent to random drug testing.
    • Have at least 2 years of experience working with children; previous employment in a child care center or school is highly desirable.
    • Be willing to acquire or show proof of current CPR/First Aid/AED certification

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safely transport children and clients to and from school, wellness programs, and other designated locations.
    • Follow assigned routes and maintain a timely schedule.
    • Ensure the safety of all passengers, including enforcing seat belt use and proper boarding/exiting procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and clients regarding pick-up and drop-off times.
    • Assist passengers as needed, particularly those with special needs, while maintaining a positive and welcoming demeanor.
    • Report any incidents, delays, or vehicle issues to management promptly.
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
    • Participate in the routine cleaning and servicing of the van; fuel; check oil and fluid levels; clean windshield and headlamps; maintain the van in clean and safe operating condition.
    • Adhere to established procedures related to the release of special education students to teachers and parents.
    • Be able to determine appropriate action in potential or real medical emergency situations according to established guidelines; administer first aid as needed; conduct routine emergency evacuation drills as assigned.
    • Attend safety meetings and programs as assigned.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Pay:
    Base rate: $17.00/hour

    Work Hours: 6:00am-9:00am and 1:45pm-4:45pm (split shift)

    Days: Monday-Friday 

    Start Date: As soon as possible
