Class of 2025/26 Application

We are excited to learn of your interest in becoming a class participant in the Leadership North County program!  

Chosen participants will learn the characteristics of leadership, explore group dynamics and experience what it takes to coalesce as a team.

Through a weekend-long retreat and series of nine workshops, Leadership North County (LNC) will introduce you to the power base of the community, show you channels of communication for achieving results, increase your awareness of issues and needs within the county, and help you achieve your full potential as an individual committed to the community.

LNC is under the auspice of the Paso Robles & Templeton Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce.

Please read this entire application and note the requirements and program structure as you proceed. Applying to Leadership North County requires time and thought, and if you are not self-employed, your employer's agreement. 

After your application is received, you will be contacted to schedule an interview.

Participation in Leadership North County is limited, and submission of this application does not guarantee acceptance.

The Leadership North County program accepts participants who work and/or live in Northern San Luis Obispo County. Participants should have a strong interest in learning about business and community in the San Luis Obispo County region. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to apply. 

 

Each participant is required to attend the weekend-long retreat and all one-day workshops held each month over the course of ten months. Please read the following statements and sign at the end of this document. 

 

Attendance: I have reviewed the dates of the Leadership North County retreat and day-of sessions (listed below), and if accepted in the program, agree to devote the time and resources necessary to attend all sessions, arriving on time each day and being in attendance the full day. Furthermore, I will complete outside assignments as directed. 

 

I understand and acknowledge that if it becomes unavoidable to miss all or part of a Leadership session:

• I will notify the Program Coordinator immediately regarding my upcoming absence
• I may be required to complete a makeup assignment to present to my classmates as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
• I understand that more than one absence can result in a discharge from the program; the status is determined on a case-by-case basis. There will be no tuition refund
• Partial day absences will be counted as a full day absence.
• I have authorization from the management of my company/organization for full participation (If Applicable).

Retreat & Workshop Dates

Retreat: Friday, August 22 at 3pm  -  Sunday, August 24 at 2pm  

Workshops: Full-day commitment (7:00 am–7:00 pm) usually on the second Friday of each month. Typical workshop days are 8am-6pm with variations to this schedule.

Community Involvement Provide a list of community, civic, professional, social, volunteer, and other organizations you have been involved with, both currently and in the past, that are not mentioned on your resume.

Participants in Leadership North County must have the support and commitment of their employer, if applicable. Click on the link below to have employer sign then upload via the link at the end of this document.

LNC Employer Approval Form

Your tuition investment of $2200 (checks are preferred) covers all program materials and costs, lunch at each of the 9 one-day workshops, and cost of the weekend retreat. If paying by credit card, the tuition will be $2250 (to cover the cost of processing fees).

Payment Terms: A $250 deposit is required when your application is submitted. The deposit will be refunded if you are not selected for the program. If selected for the program, your $250 deposit will be applied to your $2200 tuition and the remaining balance is due by June 20, 2025. If paying by credit card, the tuition total will be $2,250 to cover the cost of processing fees.

If accepted and paying by check, your entire tuition must be received in our office by end of business on June 20, 2025. 

Tuition is non-refundable.
